Plot summary
Shihua Long, who was born in the 1940s, was dissatisfied with his marriage, but still obeyed his father's orders, got married and had children. However, by chance, he met the man in his dream. Three marriages cannot be made, and lovers cannot be married.

The heroine Qiu Weiju in the first half of the film encounters a petrified dragon. She knows she is married, but falls in love at first sight. The two made a private agreement for two years, but it never came to fruition. Forced by his father to marry, he thought about her day and night for twenty years. He traveled thousands of miles to Shanghai to find his daughter, and met his sweetheart unexpectedly. Unexpectedly, the man haunting her dreams has become her daughter's de facto husband.
Cui Shu, the heroine in the second half, met the petrified dragon on the shore of the university and lived with her for two years in an extremely complicated mood. The next summer after graduation, she received a letter addressed to her mother. In order to find out the truth, she traveled thousands of miles to Shanghai. She was willing to pay off her mother's debt and fell into the arms of her mother's sweetheart.
Three people who should never be together in the world met in Shanghai, and a human tragedy immediately resulted.
