"The Tale of Genji" is a fic, and can be regarded as a prequel to "The Autumn of the Clouds" written by Gen Aoki, but it will follow the background of the original work.
The heroine, Queen Barnacle (also known as Queen Boyun), is Tao Chuanzi, the fourth daughter of the late emperor. At the age of thirteen, she entered the palace as the concubine of Emperor Tonghu, and was crowned the sixth palace; at the age of twenty-three, she gave birth to Prince Mingliang (Emperor Lengquan) and was granted the title of empress; at the age of twenty-nine, Emperor Tonghu died and was forced to become a nun; at the age of thirty-three, she was granted the title of concubine; at the age of thirty-seven, she died of illness.
The Barnacle Queen was kind-hearted and famous. Her only flaw was that she had an affair with her stepson Genji and gave birth to a prince. When something unexpected happens when you are in great favor, not only can you take care of yourself, but you can also work around to protect others, which is not unwise. His life was full of ups and downs and can be called a legend.
The Barnacle Queen is praised highly in The Tale of Genji, with both the original novel and other fan fiction depicting her as a flawless goddess who is as perfect as an auspicious goddess. But what I want to write about is a barnacle that is no different from an ordinary person: she is not a white lotus or a virgin, nor will she be subverted into a femme fatale. During her long growth, she, like ordinary people, has ambitions, desires, good and evil. The thoughts and actions of the characters in this article are all in line with that era and environment, and there is no shortcoming of "writing about ancient people with modern people's thinking" that often occurs in many historical novels/fan fiction.
