"It's really peach blossoms, there are as many as a small forest!" David insisted, eating oatmeal with a spoon.
"How could you find a paradise in Canada?" Mom laughed.
"What is Utopia?" Jenny imitated her mother's Chinese words word by word.
Mom took the laptop, typed in the words "Peach Blossom Spring" and found a passage to show David and Jenny.
"In the Taiyuan Dynasty of the Jin Dynasty, the Wuling people made a living by fishing. They walked along the stream and forgot the distance of the road. Suddenly they came across a peach blossom forest, hundreds of steps along the bank. There were no miscellaneous trees, the grass was delicious, and the fallen flowers were colorful. The fishermen were very different." David reluctantly read a short paragraph in pinyin and looked up at his mother.
"It's a good read. This is the preface written by the ancient Chinese poet Tao Yuanming for one of his poems. It tells the story of a fisherman who entered another time and space. That time and space was discovered by the fisherman when he walked into the peach blossom forest along the river." Mom tried her best to explain according to David's ideas.
