She lay on the straw pile in the ruined temple, hoping in her heart that the dusty but neglected statue she was looking up to would be merciful enough to conjure up some kind of roasted chicken or duck.
However, what she is looking forward to in her heart is to leave here and leave this world, even if it is just for a few days. She does not want to stay the same again and does not want to be looked down upon by others.
She looked forward to it intensely.
