When the Hong bell strikes at the beginning, the Bao verse is chanted loudly; it reaches the sky and the underworld. Within the three realms and four lives, everyone is free from reincarnation, and among the nine secluded realms and ten categories, evil is freed from the sea of suffering.
The bells in the morning and the drums in the evening give orders to the monks; the bells ring and the drums ring, this is what I wish to do: diligently cultivate precepts, concentration and wisdom, and put an end to greed, anger and ignorance.
