The book is Xia Yun's "A Dream of Floating Life". In fact, I don't like this book very much. What I like most is the last short story, but there is a story about a talented man and a beautiful woman interspersed with it.
The so-called "infatuated woman and betrayal of her husband" refers to a common tragedy in ancient China. A brothel girl fell in love with a poor scholar, spent all her money to help him study in Beijing and take the exam, and expected all the vows to become a reality. In the end, she only waited for the sorrow of no news, or learned that he had found her husband and was about to marry him.
I thought of an ancient article "The Biography of Huo Xiaoyu" that I had read before. It was in a reading book. Li Yi in the article was also a legendary talented man. He was affectionate and then abandoned it. There is no recall at all, and even if I think about it, I don't necessarily have much regret.
In short, tragedy is tragedy. Such inability to resist seems to be a tragedy, and the result after the struggle is still a tragedy.
