Xiangsidai is one of the two canals in Guilin. The canal was dug in the first year of Changshou in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Dai refers to the dam of the river. The water is blocked and diverted from east to west, and the water in the same vein is separated into two parts. Just like relatives who are far away from each other, the longing for each other is as long as the water. The story takes place in the Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1729-1740). The story describes the epitome of Xiangsidai's heyday.
