Concubine Zhen (1876-1900), Tatara clan, a native of Manchuria who held the red flag. The concubine of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, and also the most favored concubine, was later killed by being thrown into a well because of the crime committed by Cixi.
In just a few words, it is the most publicly recognized introduction to Concubine Zhen, but how can it explain the many injustices of the beautiful young woman who died in the Forbidden City after spending so much time in the Forbidden City? There are different opinions about the cause of Concubine Zhen's death, and each has its own reasons. Later, there were interviews with the eunuchs and maids in charge, but their words were inconsistent and it was difficult to reach a conclusion. The death of Concubine Zhen has therefore become a mystery, becoming more and more confusing. The reason may be understood only by those involved.
A hundred years ago, she gave her life to the Manchu harem. Unexpectedly, due to the disputes in the previous dynasty, the country was in danger and the people were in danger, the young and weak woman had to sacrifice her country and settle down her family together with the staunch men on the battlefield. To her, the daughter of a high-ranking official, the lady of all ladies must have a bright future, and enjoy glory and wealth; to her, the master of a dignified harem, the favorite concubine of an emperor, must have power and glory for a lifetime; to her, a fish and a goose, looking back with charm, and a lotus-like appearance that moves every step, must be charming to all living beings; how can one expect that things in the world can play tricks on people, and life is not at the right time. For her, her family is her country, and her country is her home. If the country is destroyed, the family will perish. For her, the most tragic thing is not the invasion and plunder from outside, but the internal strife and antagonism between her relatives. If there was an afterlife, she would never want to be born into a wealthy family and marry into an imperial city. I just want to live in an ordinary house and marry into a small family.
A hundred years later, can she heal the wounds and start a new life that she once hoped for but could not hope for?
