It was a very sunny day, and like an overexposed film, white recorded its only color. The waves beat rhythmically on the beach, forming a prelude-like melody in the eardrums.
On an empty coast, a father and son stand facing the sea, in an inappropriate season.
"Do you like the sea?" Dad asked.
"Yes, I like it." The boy nodded in reply.
The man walked toward the water and stopped at knee-deep water. "BLUE, come over to daddy's side." He turned around and looked at his son, with a hint of sadness in his backlit smile.
The winter water held the boy back.
"Be brave, don't you want to see mom? Mom is somewhere in the sea." The man encouraged the young child with a smile.
"Why is mom in the water? Isn't mom in heaven?" The boy, whose steps were still unsteady, leaned towards his father trustingly.
Since then, this has become a tiny fragment of memory, mixed in the brain of a boy named BLUE•S.
