Chen Baoshun sows wheat in the fields, just like he sows love. Then, the wheat grains sprout, grow roots, grow taller, bloom, and set seeds. There are sparrows standing on the wheat ears to steal the wheat grains. Chen Baoshun thought that his love was as complete as his harvest. However, the heavy heads of those wheat were cut off again, leaving only the straw. Chen Baoshun looked at the empty fields and suddenly realized that his true love had died in the soil early in the morning and turned into an empty wheat husk without sprouting.
