Prologue/Explanation
August XXXX London, UK
The murderer is lurking in this city. He is constantly looking for suitable prey and killing them.
As the number of cases continues to increase, the entire London is shrouded in a haze of panic.
Excited reporters arrived one after another, and various reports were overwhelming.
"All crime scenes seem to be mechanically completing... Some kind of process."
"If the police remain as incompetent as they have always been, Londoners will soon be dead."
"This is the devil's declaration of war against humanity."
Alfred F. Jones, an unknown young reporter, begins his own investigation. He took his camera and notes and started busy running for his own headlines, but he didn't know that he was already walking on thin ice.
And when the return train of Elizabeth Hedwig and Roderich Edelstein, who were on vacation, was about to depart, the murderer once again completed his hunt. The train was delayed and the two had to stay in this ancient and damp city for several days.
The camera in his hand faithfully recorded some moments in the darkness, and Alfred's unremitting efforts seemed to be paying off. But he didn't know exactly what he found.
Maybe these are not things that science can explain...
Now, under police investigation, some evidence points to a scholar with a reputation in the archaeological community-Arthur Kirkland...
