Ma Yumei, a female college graduate assigned to work in a university, fell in love with Guan Yisan, the director of her teaching and research department. Guan Yisan, however, has a family and dare not accept this sudden love. Although he also likes Ma Yumei, he always avoids this love because of his serious traditional thinking. Later, when he found out that his wife was having an affair and divorced her, he turned to Ma Yumei, eager to be united with her. However, it was too late.
