This novel mainly tells the story of Akimoto Yamato, who is studying at the High School Affiliated to Tokyo Daiichi University of Arts. During the summer of his first grade, he had a fight in the dormitory. He was called by the principal for questioning and asked to find another place to live, otherwise he would be expelled from the school. As a meddlesome member of the family, Shanto tried to resist authority, but was kicked out of school and lived in the notorious "Weird Apartment".
