As a doctor, I must calm down my mind and have no desires or demands. I must first have a heart of great mercy and compassion, and vow to universally rescue the suffering souls. If anyone comes to ask for help, I must not ask whether they are rich or poor, old or young, young or old, grudges, good friends, Chinese or foreign, stupid or wise. They are all the same. Seeing others suffering, if you have it yourself, you will be deeply saddened. Do not avoid hardships and dangers, day and night, cold and heat, hunger, thirst, and fatigue. Go to rescue with all your heart, without any intention of making any signs of effort.
