Ding Wei, the captain of the First University basketball team, is bohemian and addicted to alcohol; his teammate Xiao Lan is introverted and silent, and is regarded by passers-by as self-reliant and aloof. Their fathers were neighbors and superiors, so they knew each other since childhood and became young lovers in high school.
