I read this story in a borrowed novel more than ten years ago, and I still have some impressions of it. I happen to be interested in the subject of the Republic of China recently, so I looked for it online on a whim, and I found it.
Reading this story again, I was attracted by Ji Rou's couple. I think this is the most regrettable pair. Long Tou never knew that his beloved was also devoted to him until his death. Ji Rou looked forward to living for decades with strong regrets, and did not meet him in another life. Maybe they would never meet again on the road to hell.
