I heard this story told when I was very young. In Greek mythology, Hercules Sisyphus was cursed by the gods to push a boulder up a mountain every day. Every time he was about to push the boulder to the top of the mountain, the boulder would roll back down. In this way, day after day, year after year, he carried out futile and hopeless labor without stopping.
I think, who is not cursed by fate? At the end of everyone's arduous and long journey, the door to death opens. As it is said in "A Dream of Red Mansions", "Even if there is an iron threshold for a thousand years, one will eventually need a clay steamed bun." Human birth, old age, illness and death have long been predetermined and can never be broken away or changed. When a person is born, everyone around him is laughing; when a person dies, everyone around him is crying. As soon as every baby is born, his life is destined to be tragic.
Human life is a tragedy, let alone love in this life. The happy union and marriage at the end of novels and TV shows are not the final ending. When two people are really together, there will be tedious things like daily necessities and trivial matters. The resulting bits and pieces of dissatisfaction will slowly lead to quarrels again and again. Even if the relationship between two people is so good that they never have a cold war or quarrel in their lives, can they be together happily forever? The curse of fate will eventually come, and one of the two people will go first, leaving the other in pain and loneliness. Therefore, happiness is only temporary, the only difference is the length of time. Other lovers can continue to love each other because their happiness is relatively long. We broke up just because our happiness is relatively short.
I thought so and felt relieved.
