I want to write about my hometown of Chongqing, a city where mountains and rivers collide, modernity and simplicity, poverty and change collide. The two vast rivers have made Chongqing people bold and unruly, and the mountains have made the mountain people thick and sturdy, but they have also inevitably brought with them the chains of narrowness... So I divided it into two cities to write about.
