Citizens of this country, regardless of high or low, have received a series of education about the law since birth. Foreigners often come into contact with various provisions of the law. In order to warn the citizens of this country and to rectify the law, the penalty of hanging was established. Hangings were public gatherings of the people; citizens could temporarily put down their work while the execution was being carried out. Gradually, watching hangings became an after-dinner entertainment. At first, most of the outsiders were executed. Gradually, those domestic criminals who were intolerable to the citizens were also dragged to the gallows. Watching the hangings became a grand event, not just a rally. It was under such circumstances that the position of clown came into being.
