Autumn is approaching with great force, and no one can prepare for it. It's windy and cold all night, and passers-by who don't wear enough clothes wrap up their clothes and return home shivering.
There were not many pedestrians on the street. Stores closed their stalls early and locked their doors.
A thin figure lingered at the street corner, seeming to be hesitant about where to go next. Her clothes were in tatters, her complexion was yellow from hunger, and her body was as shriveled as a bundle of firewood.
When the old man appeared in front of her, she was blinded by the strong wind. For a moment, she thought the old man was just an illusion. But the old man put a coat on her, then looked at her and asked: "Are you hungry?"
Her body hidden in her coat was trembling, and she nodded.
"Would you like to have dinner at my house? There will be meat, vegetables and hot soup."
She suddenly felt that maybe all this was really an illusion, and she couldn't tell for sure. The old man's warm and dry palm wrapped her little hand, and he said: "My child, don't be afraid."
