The side stories in the Guan Ju series mainly tell three stories that were ignored in the prequels.
The first volume "Falling flowers remain silent, people are as pale as chrysanthemums" tells the story of Ye Zhili.
The middle volume "Spring comes out of the empty pool, the ancient mirror shines upon the gods" tells the story of a small episode between Ling Luo and the eldest prince.
The second volume "Qianxun Wuxia, Zouyun Lianfeng" tells several episodes between King Mu and the eldest prince
