The background of the story is that Ichimaru Gin killed Aizen in order to obtain the Hongyoku, and then he was dying because of too much spiritual power loss.
The two traveled to the world of Naruto together and rediscovered the lost past in Konoha Village.
On Konoha's side, the Fourth Ninja War ended with Sasuke assisting Konoha in killing Madara and Kabuto and returning to Konoha. There was no chance to make amends for the mistakes I made in the heat of the moment. On the day he returned to Konoha, Kakashi did not appear in the crowd that greeted him.
