Some notes on this fragment:
The general plot is like this. Sage is the emperor of a certain dynasty, and Xiaomi is the general stationed at the frontier. Of course, the enemy Xiaomi wants to guard against is the Angdian of the ethnic minorities + nomads (King Aries, don't laugh, there is indeed such a famous person in the history of the Huns, but he is not that powerful, so this is the only name given here).
At the beginning, Xiaomi had a crush on Sa Ge, but Sa Ge was hypocritical and deliberately got close to King Rong (Miao Miao) to stimulate Xiaomi (this model is too classic and too bloody). Brother Sa is the king and Xiaomi is the minister, so no matter how heartbroken Xiaomi is, she can only swallow it. But as time goes by, Xiaomi gradually becomes miserable and desperate.
So, when blocking an attack by Ang Dian, Xiaomi rushed forward desperately, and was finally shot off his horse by an arrow from Ang Dian, and fell on the grassland littered with corpses. Ang Dian originally wanted to chop off Xiaomi's head with a knife, but later found out that Xiaomi was still alive, so on a whim (actually, his heart moved) he rescued Xiaomi back to his tent. Then Ang Dian tried his best to save Xiaomi and finally brought him back to life, but Xiaomi also became the "captive" of the Aries King.
At the beginning, neither of them was convinced by the other. Later, the more contact they had, the deeper their understanding became. Xiaomi gradually discovered how free the grassland is, and how straightforward those ethnic minorities + nomads are. Xiaomi was deeply touched and gradually accepted Ang Dian and agreed with their position. (Don't ask me if you have rice XXOO, this is definitely inevitable.)
This fragment talks about what happened about a year after Xiaomi was "captured".
