Description:
CP1: An ambitious, obsessive, unhinged mortal woman × a dignified sea god, heaven's favorite.
“Your eyes are too clear. I've run aground in them.” Chu Lian smiled gently.
“That's all right. I'm the sea. I'll always bring you home, until you're ready to stay.” Back then, Yue Wuyin sat high upon the divine altar, solemn in her dark robes.
“Better if we forget each other.” It was the most painful thing she ever said to him.
CP2: A down-on-his-luck, “dignified” domineering sea god × a cold-faced, cute-tongued, sharp-witted but warm-hearted Heavenly Venerable.
Venerable Liushi smiled patiently, his eyes curving as he lowered his gaze and said calmly, “My surname is Yan, my given name Zhuo, and my courtesy name is Liushang. For now, you may call me Master.” As he brushed the loose hair from his forehead, the white silk covering his eyes stood out. Through their white robes, he hooked his little finger around Yue Wuyin's. The sharp scent of plum blossoms drifted from his collar.
The dignified sea god had fallen overnight into the body of an ordinary mortal, and a barely weaned little brat at that.
Yue Wuyin hesitated. Knowing that pride couldn't put food on the table, she fidgeted with the hem of her clothes, then took the initiative to hold his finger. In a soft, sweet voice, she smiled: “Hello, Master.”
The sea god spends every day pretending to be a sweet, obedient little disciple. When her Master is angry, she has to soothe him. When he's down, she has to go to ridiculous lengths to cheer him up. Boohoo, it's so hard.
Yue Wuyin really wants to quit, but her body honestly clutches the dried fish in her hand as she beams at the snowy figure in the doorway. “Master, you're back!”
A disciple with a secret identity, a born actress, vs. a cold Master who pretends to be blind and adores cute things.
On a trip down the mountain to buy groceries, Master points at the radishes and cabbages with his eyes closed, naming them outright. He speaks the local dialect more fluently than the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper stares at the white silk over Yan Liushang's eyes, and drops every pot and pan he has.
Yue Wuyin: “Master, uh... aren't you blind?”
Yan Liushang: “...”
He hides a cough behind his sleeve. “I guessed.”
Yue Wuyin: Yeah, right.
Yue Wuyin remarks with a sigh, “Master, you and Lord Siming seem pretty close.”
Yan Liushang glares at her. “How would a mortal like you know about that?”
Yue Wuyin rolls her eyes awkwardly and lies without batting one: “I heard it somewhere.”
Author's content notes:
This is a lighthearted, silly story, but not pure fluff. The humor comes with angst and heartbreak.
This is not a one-on-one romance. Several male characters pursue the heroine, and there's no definite endgame couple for now. Ship whoever you like. Chapter One mainly follows the heroine's side story, with a fast pace and plenty of angst. If you're here for Yan and Yue, you'll probably have to wait until Chapter Two. Please keep that in mind before reading.
Theme: Not decided yet.
