A blind orphan girl from Zhushan, leaning on a cane, is pushed down the mountain by her grandfather and opens a small clinic in the capital. She cures a sickly young nobleman, who secures her a plaque personally inscribed by the emperor. After that, her patients grow increasingly unusual: powerful officials, wronged spirits, and the ghosts of a fallen dynasty who should never have appeared in the capital.
Theme: Though blind, she can hear the voices of all things, yet she cannot hear what lies in people’s hearts. Her blazing light lays bare every ghost and monster in the world, and at last, it shines on the one person who refuses to accept her fate: herself.
