Lin He, a ten-year veteran fan of A Chinese Ghost Story, wins a spot in a special Werewolf game at a gaming carnival. When she opens her eyes, she's wearing a cosplay outfit as the female sorceress Feng Yaozheng, seated inside the Yijiangnan Inn in Hangzhou. At her table are the actress Shen Yu, a couple, a white-haired wolf faction player, an archer, and a swordsman.
On the first night, the female doctor and female swordswoman both die, but the blood isn't on their bodies. The rules are bizarre: seven of the ten players are real people, three are NPCs, and two are Black Hearts. The Black Hearts' victory condition is secret. The discussion phase is a riot: the archer talks about servers, the swordsman puts his faith in superstition, and the wolf faction player starts cursing and gets voted out by six players. On the second night, a huge fight breaks out. On the third night, another huge fight breaks out!
Who are the NPCs? What are the Black Heart players scheming?
And once they're back in the real world, how will everyone react?
