On the distant alien planet K-77 lives a group of ant-like extraterrestrials. One of them is an alien girl named Qiqi, a member of the planet's Earth Observation Team. Her observation subject is Tong Mengmeng, a girl with terrible luck. Tong Mengmeng's parents died in an accident, and she lost her job. She cries every day and gets dead drunk at night. As Qiqi observes her day after day, she develops special feelings for Tong Mengmeng. She travels to Earth in a spaceship and spends the first few days invisible, following and protecting Tong Mengmeng. Then one day, when Tong Mengmeng is nearly taken advantage of while passed out, Qiqi takes human form and rescues her. She brings Tong Mengmeng home and looks after her through the night. The next morning, Tong Mengmeng thanks Qiqi. Qiqi says she has nowhere to live, so Tong Mengmeng takes her in, and they begin living together. A series of amusing events brings their hearts closer until they become soulmates. One day, Tong Mengmeng accidentally discovers Qiqi's true form and faints from shock. Qiqi is heartbroken, leaves her a message, and returns to her home planet. Only then does Tong Mengmeng realize that she has long since fallen deeply in love with Qiqi. She searches for Qiqi at all the places they visited together, but can't find her. On her home planet, Qiqi learns that Tong Mengmeng has been looking everywhere for her, so she returns to Earth and takes Tong Mengmeng on a trip to K-77. After the trip, she brings Tong Mengmeng back to Earth. Qiqi dies in Tong Mengmeng's arms. Tong Mengmeng is devastated, but decides to keep living her life.
