Borrowed Name
After her grandmother dies, Zhou Zhao discovers a strange ledger among her belongings. For thirty-five years, the same person has ordered paper clothes and shoes every year, with one stipulation: the soles must not be too slippery.
On the day of the funeral, the person named in the ledger shows up in person.
His name is Lin Du. His face has remained that of a twenty-nine-year-old, he remembers every person who has died in town, and he cannot cross the bridge that leads beyond it. His grandmother left only one final instruction: take Lin Du out of here.
To recover the name that was borrowed from him, Zhou Zhao ventures into a sealed theater, an old house beneath the water, and the lie the whole town has kept for thirty-five years. Someone borrows faces in the mirror; someone waits for a name in a coffin. The closer they get to the truth, the colder Lin Du's body grows.
They argue and keep secrets, but when the next danger arrives, they kiss. Zhou Zhao originally wanted only to find Lin Du a way to survive. Later, she realizes she can no longer accept a future that doesn't include her.
One has been trapped in death for far too long. The other is determined to pull him back into the world of the living.
But when his name is returned, will Lin Du find a lifetime ahead of him, or one final goodbye?
