Fu Yan was seven when Zhou Yanxiao began supporting him. As they grew up, they fell in love.
But an old case from more than twenty years ago resurfaced, and Fu Yan’s father was accused of causing the deaths of Zhou Yanxiao’s parents.
Suspicion and rumors drove the two of them farther and farther apart.
Zhou Yanxiao imprisoned Fu Yan. Heartbroken, Fu Yan left and eventually died deep in the mountains of the southwest, buried in a landslide while protecting a mural. His body was never found.
When the truth finally came to light, Fu Yan’s father was proven innocent, but Zhou Yanxiao could never bring Fu Yan back.
Theme: The truth will come, but being a moment too late can cost you a lifetime. Cracks in cultural relics can be gilded, but once suspicion hollows out a heart, it cannot be repaired. Love does not mean locking someone away, and trust cannot be forced out through interrogation. Fu Yan protected the mural, his father’s good name, and his promise. The one person he failed to protect was himself.
