During the Dajing period, mysterious crimes occurred frequently in the capital, and undercurrents lurked in the streets and alleys.
The government and the public seem to be at peace, but in fact there is a lot of fog. Unsolved cases and old troubles are piled up one after another. Countless bizarre murders have been quietly submerged in the years. No one has investigated deeply and no one has solved the problem.
Shen Qingci was once a well-known lady, but her family fortune fell apart, her father and brother were unjustly imprisoned, and the old cases were sealed in the files, and no one dared to touch them again. She took off her beautiful clothes and her gentleness, and stayed dormant for several years, just to find out the truth about the unjust case and clear her family's name. The world only knows that she is cold and taciturn and has an indifferent temperament, but they don't know that she is thoughtful and insightful, and is good at detecting clues and breaking through layers of fog.
Lin Yanchi, the Shaoqing who is in charge of the prison and specializes in investigating mysterious cases, is cold and taciturn, and solves cases like a god. He has handled countless difficult and mysterious cases, and is used to seeing the sinister people and the absurd state of the world. He has never believed in God's will and fate, only believing in the law of evidence. He holds the decision of life and death, acts resolutely and sharply, and sticks to the bottom line of justice alone in the wind and rain of the government and the public.
A serial murder case tightly bound two people who had no intersection at all.
Serial murders in the city, secret shadows in the palace, old grudges, family secrets, each seemingly independent case is actually entangled with inextricable connections, pointing directly to the old case in the court many years ago.
Since then, one person has investigated the strangeness of the market, and the other has judged the right and wrong in the court.
They work together to break through the layers of illusions, find the truth in the subtleties, and catch the real culprit in the fog. Murderous intentions are hidden in the dark, the old forces are pressing harder, rumors and traps are everywhere, and life and death crises are coming one after another.
On the way to investigate the case, people's hearts are harder to guess than the murder, and the truth is more piercing than the fog.
They trust each other in dangerous cases, redeem each other in the ups and downs of troubled times, clear away the layers of fog that obscure their eyes, tear through the hypocrisy of the government and the public, restore justice to the wronged souls, and protect the innocence of the world.
The old case was finally solved and the injustice was overturned.
The mountains and rivers are stable year after year, and the dust of the world has settled.
From now on, the world will be windy and rainy, the law will be clear, and every year will be peaceful.
