The Empress Dowager of Daliao Duan Wan Shu Lu Ping Biography——
The history of the Liao Dynasty left her with only a few lines: She died at the hands of her husband, established a second son, and deposed the eldest son. She lived in seclusion in her ancestral state. She still sent envoys to ask about important events in the world. She died at the age of seventy-five.
In 879 AD, Yueliduo, a girl from the Shulu tribe, was born in Baimachuan. When she was fifteen years old, she recovered a lost horse, killed it with arrows during a spring hunt, and married into the Diela tribe with a knife and a black horse, and from then on she worked side by side with Yelu Abaoji. She walked from the family tent to Konoha Mountain, and from the Salt Pond to the throne: in 907, Burnt Chai ascended the throne, and in 916, she was proclaimed emperor and awarded the title of "Queen of the Earth"; she established the official system, created the Khitan character, and established the Shan army; she captured all the seven masters at the Salt Pond Banquet; in 926, she witnessed the destruction of Bohai and the establishment of Dongdan. Abaoji died in Buyeo City, and the generals in front of her asked, "Why didn't the Queen go?" She cut off her wrist with a knife and threw it into the Zi Palace, sealing the ambition of the Manchu Dynasty with her blood - from then on, the grassland called her the "Queen Mother with broken wrists".
This is more than a history of power. The whole book is run through three images of "wrist, salt, and flag": the wrist is her broken flesh and blood, affection and authority; the salt is the lifeline, kindness and bitterness she holds on to; the flag is the country and thoughts she has guarded her whole life. She gave birth to her second son Deguang, but her eldest son Tuyu Fanhai was gone forever, and she handed over the country to her unkillable grandson Wuyu in the cross-crossing agreement. She defeated all men, but finally lost to one who was "reluctant".
She has been winning all her life. In the end, she found that what she put down was heavier than what she won. What history remembers are those who survived to the end. Konoha Mountain has remembered her name for more than a thousand years.
