This book is generally a continuation of Cao Xueqin's 80th chapter. The creation draws on the shortcomings of hundreds of years of "Dream of Red Mansions" sequels, and strives to avoid common problems such as abrupt plots, broken emotional logic, and deviation from Cao Gong's original intention. Therefore, in terms of plot advancement, the work still begins with Daiyu's arrival in Beijing, and the clues connected with subsequent plots are naturally embedded in the first 80 chapters of the narrative, so that after entering the 80th chapter, the transition is smooth, the logic is self-consistent, and the characters' personalities are consistent. The ending strictly follows Cao Xueqin's original intention, continuing the whole process of the decline of the Jia family, and retaining human warmth and literary beauty in the tragic narrative.
At the same time, in view of the far-fetched implicit interpretations in the current discussion of red studies, the anachronism of interpreting the past with the present, excessive entertainment deconstruction, and the polarization tendency of black and white, this book uses the context of the characters in the book to make echoes and clarifications that are in line with Cao Xueqin's original intention of creation, and strives to guide readers to return to the literary value of the classics themselves.
The author Zhuan Wa, majoring in Chinese history, has a strong foundation in Chinese history and literary aesthetics. He has conducted special research on Cao Xueqin's family history and the history, humanities, and legal systems of the Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong dynasties of the Qing Dynasty. While retaining the elegant style of the original work, this book takes into account the narrative rhythm and readability of modern readers.
