A remote village, where there are clans, fields, bamboo forests, and a group of children who were pushed to grow up early by fate.
From villages to schools, from families to factories, from roller skating rinks to unfamiliar cities, I have tried countless times to escape from places that felt suffocating. I thought that if I walked far enough, I could escape poverty, prejudice, hurt, and the unspeakable past.
Later I realized that what people really need to escape may never be a certain place, but the fear, shame and self-doubt that have already entered the body.
