In the winter of 1937, Lin Zheng, a girl from Peking, walked through Xizhimen and walked into the Taihang Mountains.
In the following twelve years, she grew from a survivor of the Japanese bacterial experiment to a staff officer of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army. She has commanded battles and narrowly escaped death after being captured.
Her body was deteriorating day by day, and her hair was turning gray day by day.
She knew she didn't have much time.
But she still walked forward. Walking into the Taihang Mountains, walking into the flames of war, walking into the era when she was destined to burn herself out.
