Nineteen-year-old Yan Yuanxue was raised by two adoptive mothers, Yan Shan, a well-known magazine editor, and An Wan, a university professor, from the age of six. They loved her biological mother Liu Qingyue deeply, but their love was mixed with hatred, regret and substitution. As Yan Yuanxue grew up, she became more and more like the dead Liu Qingyue.
