Synopsis
Geographical chronology This land is called Yu. Public opinion is the name of carrying things. Xuanshui passes through its hinterland, Daiyue Mountain stands in its east, and Tonghai Lake pickles the salt of civilization in its west. For thousands of years, people have migrated, built platforms, fought, and formed alliances along the rivers, bleeding the same blood and speaking different languages. The story begins with Xiong Gao. With a pair of hands, a hammer and a flood, a embankment builder's son rescued the Chong tribe in the upper reaches of Xuanshui River from a group of clans that were fighting each other. He did not rely on the dominoes of his ancestors to get to his position, but relied on being able to repair the dikes, divide the land evenly, and turn outsiders into his own people. When he was alive, the Chong clan changed their name to "Chong". After his death, three people took over the management of his stall - one in charge of the fields, one in charge of dams and water conservancy, and one in charge of foreign affairs and force. The three of them argued and talked, and finally turned the rules left by Xiong Gao into deerskin rolls hanging on the market pillars. But these rules are not inherently hard. A handful of sand on the salt road can make the entire Chong market feel excited; the salt merchants of Tonghai Lake in the west, the old aristocrats of the Tai ethnic group in the east, and the eyeing Rong tents on the Shuofang Plateau in the north - everyone is waiting for Chong himself to fall. Inside Chong, the old people with the same surname are holding a wine shop in the corner, the new immigrants are watching the wind in the straw shed, and if the old craftsman falls by the stove in the utensil workshop, the entire craft may be eradicated. Three people are supporting a country that is growing bones, and there is always pain in the bones. This is not a story about a hero changing the world single-handedly. This is a story about people grinding out the word "rules" bit by bit in the mud, stones, copper water and waves. From tribe to covenant, from covenant to routine, from routine to system - every inch of progress is accompanied by death knells, quarrels, calculations and compromises. There is the politics of governing water like governing a country, the underlying logic of voting with your feet, the institutional anxiety when technological inheritance is interrupted, and the private dignity of a person building a new bronze tripod by the stove. Chong later became a dynasty. This road was so long that Xiong Gao didn't finish it. His descendants and those who relied on their ability to sit at the desk continued to walk. Xuanshui flows eastward, and the stars move westward silently. The embankment is there and the people are there. As long as people are here, the world will be there. Concept: The system does not come from the sky, but is built up bit by bit by specific people in specific difficulties, just like building a dike; once it is formed, it will in turn define the identity and destiny of those who come after it; but the system will never be eternally correct, it will always be tested by new currents, new cracks, and new choosers.
