September 1, 2009, Anping No. 3 Middle School. Jiang Sheng, a first-year junior high school student, had a piano-shaped pendant hanging on his schoolbag. Lu Ye, a boy in the back row, squatted down, took off his shoelaces and tied them to the piano case. A shoelace, tied for fifteen years. From the junior high school classroom, the auto repair shop, the piano room of the attached middle school, to the 873 brick marks in the Jiedong Institute, to the farewell at 6:20 in the morning on March 14, 2024, until the bus stop three years later in 2027. It writes about how two boys kept each other secret in the gap between the times, how the action of "waiting" was dragged from boyhood to adulthood, and the price of missing 40 minutes and the repayment for the rest of their lives.
