This world was originally a novel. In the original book, Fu Shuoyuan and Shen Shu have very little intersection. The male supporting character Fu Shuoyuan is the general of Zhenguo Mansion. He has a long and narrow scar on his face and wears a mask every day. The female NPC Shen Shu is the eldest princess of Tianjiudi, and she has five male favorites in her mansion. However, she will be betrothed by the emperor to Su Yan, the son of the prime minister.
In the original book, Fu Shuoyuan is a villain bent on revenge, but he is eventually stopped by the male protagonist in the novel, the third prince Shen Nuo, who becomes his stepping stone to become the heir, and he and the female protagonist start a bloody plot of chasing his wife in the crematorium.
