When Gu Yanzhi woke up, he found that he had become a scholar from the Gu family branch of Jing Dynasty.
Only three things were left behind this body: a blank family record, a line of pencil writing on the window paper, and a turned-over book box. Before his death, he wrote on the paper window: "The road to destiny begins with a single step." Then on August 17th, he fell into a high fever and couldn't wake up.
The first thing he did after taking over the body was to grind ink, lay out paper, and write the first stroke on the blank page of the family record.
There lived a lame maid in the Gu family courtyard. She brings a bowl of clear porridge every day, and there are scratches, pinch marks, and bruises on her wrists. She never said why.
The mute wet nurse in the east courtyard swallowed a silver hairpin one night. No one asked her why she swallowed it.
The word "Dunmu" is written on the plaque of Dunmu Hall, and the people in the hall are using these two words to suppress everything that should not be said.
Gu Yanzhi doesn't have a golden finger. He only has a pair of eyes, a pen, and a blank family record. He has no intention of overthrowing the world, and has no ability to change the laws of its operation. All he could do was see it and write it down.
Someone asked him why he wrote it.
"Someone has to remember," he said.
It was the first thing he learned in this house.
There are still many things to learn later - when to take action, when to stand aside, when a pen is more useful than a knife, when silence is more important than words.
The road he was taking didn't even know where it would lead. But he was already leaving.
See what you see and act accordingly. A little bit of progress, waiting for the future.
Yanlu, starting today.
Intention: to make some small mistakes and wait for the future.
