In the summer after the high school entrance examination, Yang Shiyue got caught in the rain by the river and ran into a noodle shop called Lao Liu.
It was her first time meeting Zhou Chi. Zhou Chi handed her a towel and said two words: "Wipe it off."
Later, Yang Shiyue found out that Zhou Chi was admitted from the county. She was the only one left in the family and had to pay for the tuition by herself. No one was nice to her, so when Yang Shiyue was nice to her, her first reaction was to hide. Yang Shiyue has a lot of patience - she feels that her life is still long, and she can always wait until Zhou Chi learns how to catch someone's heart.
The days went by like this. Noodle shop, campus, the same evening, the same stretch of road. Zhou Chi's response was still in pieces - a steamed bun, a cup of hot water, and a moment of silence waiting for her to finish speaking. But Yang Shiyue knew she was learning.
Later Zhou Chi finally spoke. She said one sentence, very short.
That was the first time in her life that she said it.
It's also the last time.
