It doesn't snow in the south, and the pigeons have no return date. Li Boyan's world had always been silent, until Gu Anze's appearance made him hear his heartbeat.
Li Boyan was born mute. In the isolated village, he was the one isolated by the whole village. My mother was beaten to death by her violent father, my father was imprisoned, my grandmother died young, and there was only a blind grandfather left by my side. The cold looks from the villagers and the bullying from the children pinned him in the gloomy mire.
Gu Anze is the orphan of an anti-drug policeman. After his parents died, he was looked down upon under the roof of the same village. Two teenagers forgotten by the world warmed each other in a dilapidated corner. Whenever Li Boyan held his grandfather's hand and pulled Gu Anze into his shabby hut, it became their only safe haven. They are each other's childhood sweethearts and each other's only salvation.
From junior high school to high school, they supported each other and even got admitted to the same key high school. Li Boyan is a silent academic god, and Gu Anze is a forbearing academic master. They jumped through thousands of troops side by side and were admitted to the same university. On the playground of the university, Gu Anze hugged tightly the boy who could never speak. They were together, and that was the brightest light in their lives. They agreed that they would live together in a warm place in the south.
After graduation, Gu Anze inherited his parents' legacy and became an anti-drug policeman walking on the edge of a knife; while Li Boyan, in order to be closer to him, shuttled around the market and became a delivery boy. Their love persisted in the tiny smoke of fireworks until that rainy night when Li Boyan was molested by a strange man while delivering food. He struggled desperately but was eventually killed.
When the news came, Gu Anze's world completely collapsed. He quit his job and locked himself in darkness. He didn't meet anyone and he didn't get married. In the spring of the third year, Gu Anze got on the train to the south alone and went to the place they had agreed to go to together. It didn't snow there, the sun was warm, but Li Boyan was gone.
Gu Anze held the knife, thinking about Li Boyan's face over and over again on the deserted beach and in the empty room. He drew the knife and stabbed himself, once, twice, dozens of times. When the blood dried, he finally smiled. He fell to the ground and muttered silently: "Bo Yan, I'm here to find you. If there is an afterlife, the first thing you say must be my name."
Intention: Love is not a one-way begging, but a two-way equal giving. Leaving is a farewell and the beginning of a new life
