Deep in Chun Alley there is an inconspicuous gold repair shop called "Shiguang".
The proprietress Su Yao specializes in mending broken old things, but she cannot mend herself. Her mother died when she was eight years old. The cause of death is a mystery, leaving only a mother box that cannot be opened and an old silver moon earring that she has worn in her left ear for twenty years.
Until one day, the box started to ooze red.
