In the early years of the Republic of China, Western music was introduced to China on a large scale. Pianos and violins are sought after in new schools and theaters, and traditional silk and bamboo are regarded as decayed relics. The living space of folk music is constantly being squeezed. Six young men got together by fate and established the folk music club "Nan Que". Their skills all have their roots in female ancestors who have been obscured and buried by the times. The Music Club not only protects Chinese folk music from being swallowed up by the wave of Western music, but also salvages the hard work and ideals of those female musicians whose names have been erased.
