"If History Has Contours - Women" continues the "points and lines" dialogue narrative method of the previous work. Gao Detu and Shi Xiaopo once again sat in the familiar room, facing a new whiteboard. This time, they want to draw a line that has long been obscured by official history - women's history.
The book is divided into nine chapters: ancient times, pre-Qin, Qin and Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang, Song, Liao and Jin, Yuan and Ming, Qing, and modern times. Starting from the remains of the matrilineal society, it goes through the first military point of "Hao Hao", the first power point of "Queen Lu", the first cultural point of "Cai Wenji", all the way to Wu Zetian's single peak that pierced the sky, to Li Qingzhao's line of words, Qiu Jin's sword line, and the awakening and climbing of women in various fields in modern times.
Each point follows the same "coordinate positioning method" as the previous work - time coordinates, space coordinates, and meaning coordinates. Each dot answers the same question: Where does she stand on the contours of history? In which direction does her line extend?
The book does not seek to overthrow the history written by men, but attempts to redraw the erased lines on the existing map.
Concept: History is not a line only men tread. Women are also walking and painting. It's just that their paint is lighter and easier to wash away with time. What this book has to do is to paint back those washed-out colors.
