"Next Autumn" is a fantasy novel based on the legend of onmyoji and monsters in Japan's Heian period. The story revolves around the young Onmyoji Reiichi, who originally lived in Hirakawa Shrine and shoulders the mission of protecting the world and sealing demon spirits. However, a sudden disaster broke his originally peaceful life and set him on a journey of strength, faith and growth.
In the new environment, Reiichi met Kagura, a young onmyoji from Kyoto Shrine. In the process of getting along and fighting side by side, the two gradually understood the complex relationship between humans and monsters, obsession and redemption. The work depicts a mysterious and gentle world of monsters through onmyoji, monster legends and a worldview full of oriental fantasy.
The novel not only shows the conflict between humans and monsters, but also explores themes such as loss, loneliness, bonds, and the search for a sense of belonging.
