The thing that Xie Wanxing regretted most in his life was chewing the mint candy on that tooth.
The first time I met Zhou Yanli, she was a grinning patient, while he was a dentist with a mask covering his face, revealing only a pair of peach blossom eyes. He gave her an anesthetic and whispered in her ear: "Don't keep staring at boys when you go out."
She fled.
The second time she met him was on her first day as an intern at the beauty group. The female CEO came to inspect, and the man behind her was none other than Zhou Yanli, whom she had made so ugly on the medical chair.
He knocked on the edge of her work desk as if knocking on a door: "What are you hiding from? Didn't you dare to look at it last time?"
Xie Wanxing pretended not to hear.
What she's best at is pretending. Pretending to be cheerful, pretending to be sunshine, pretending to have a happy family, until everyone thinks she is the sun. She didn't believe she couldn't pretend to be a mere Zhou Yanli.
She was wrong.
Zhou Yanli never believed what he said. He only believed what he saw - her trembling fingertips, her pinched red lips, her subconsciously discerning eyes every time she said "It's okay".
Finally one day, he blocked her between the reagent racks in the laboratory.
The escape route was blocked by him. He took off his gold-rimmed glasses and wiped them slowly. His voice was as low as coaxing or interrogating:
"Ms. Xie, it's time for your tooth to be reexamined."
"This is the R&D department." She pressed her back against the cold instrument table, her heartbeat making her ears hurt. "Dr. Zhou, I don't do dental work."
He chuckled and took half a step forward.
Distance disappears.
"That's just right." He leaned down and his breath brushed against her ear. "I'll change places and take a look."
What I thought was a chance encounter turned out to be your long-planned plan.
Concept: The day the mint candy broke, she thought it was the most embarrassing moment in her life.
It was a long time before she realized that it was the sound of light coming in.
True love is not looking up at your light, but seeing the hurt you hide behind.
You don't have to force yourself to live like the sun, there will always be someone who loves you for your imperfections.
