Mountains and rivers in all directions give birth to young people from all directions. They come from all over the world and meet at Northeast Normal University by fate. Although they were in different classes and dormitories, they were drawn by the same original intention. They took the opportunity of a rural social practice survey to walk side by side and laid a young promise about the mountains, wilderness and hope.
The enthusiastic and courageous Lu Linbei, who grew up in Changchun, specializes in mountainous infrastructure and wants to use the power of engineering to break the blockade caused by deep mountain geography; Wen Yushan, who was born in the mountains of Guizhou, has personally experienced poverty in the mountains and fields. Shen Yanzhou, a young man from the family, studies sociology, is thoughtful and considerate, always holds a folding fan, and remembers that "we drink from the same river, we are one family", hoping to build a bridge between mountains and seas with knowledge and vision; Ah Qiao, a Miao girl from the Miao border in Yunnan, is familiar with Miao embroidery skills and traditional ethnic customs, and has always been determined that changing poverty should never be at the expense of abandoning the thousand-year-old national heritage.
At first, they just went to Huawu Miao Village in Guizhou with research topics. Papers full of documents, classroom reflections, and suburban rehearsals are no match for the reality that hits us when we step into the mountains. Beneath the beautiful Wujiang mountains and rivers are muddy and dangerous mountain roads, the hollowing out of left-behind villages, villagers' wariness against outsiders, and the irreconcilable contradiction between industry and culture.
Ideals constantly hit the wall of reality. Passion and prudence collide with each other, and development and protection compete with each other. Four young people with completely different experiences and majors gradually settled through differences in ideas and friction. During field visits and campfire chats, they learned to put aside their inherent knowledge from books and listen to the real survival needs of ordinary people in the mountains.
This is just the beginning of the story, and the young man's lies are still hanging in the balance. The road of research under their feet will eventually extend into a long trek rooted in the mountains. In the next few years, they will travel through mountains and ravines, trying to build roads, explore industries, protect intangible cultural heritage, and light up the faint fire in the mountains. The wishes once made by young people with great enthusiasm will slowly be written into a hot answer sheet belonging to the mountains and seas through persistence day after day.
The mountains and fields hope to connect to the rivers and seas, and the young people's ambitions reach the sky. This is a journey spanning thousands of miles. A group of young people have given their youth to the mountains in the southwest. Amidst setbacks and perseverance, they are waiting for the mountains to usher in new life.
Purpose: Poverty alleviation
