Micro-novel · Weird stories about urban rules | Based on real emotional pit avoidance cases
"Symbiosis Pond" is a "Guide to Avoiding Hidden Emotional Consumption" packaged in the shell of an urban ghost story: Deep in the nameless old alley whose coordinates can never be found on city maps, there is a shoal glowing with warm white soft light. Several young girls who claim to be working hard in a foreign land guard here, always using soft invitations and a fragile sense of vulnerability to catch every passerby who is willing to show their sincerity and have strong empathy.
They will never take the initiative to hurt anyone, they will only use gentle companionship to remove all other people's defenses, and slowly accumulate the kindness, energy, and hard work of others into the nutrients that nourish this shoal. When you finally realize something is wrong and want to withdraw, they neither argue nor block you, they just quietly watch you voice out all your grievances. In the end, everyone in the same circle will subconsciously feel that it is you who is making trouble unreasonably and insisting on you.
By the time you react, you have already exhausted all your enthusiasm, and you can't even find any evidence that can explain the whole story. This shoal hidden in the cracks of the city has been circulating quietly, just waiting for the next person who is full of sincerity to accidentally step in.
Purpose: Use the shell of ghost stories to tear open the invisible network of hidden mental control: When the voices around you are forcing you to doubt yourself, you don't need to prove your sobriety to anyone. Keeping your own feelings is the only key to escape from the "Symbiosis Pool".
