A science fiction narrative spanning nearly sixty years (2039-2095), using the concept of "dissipation" in physics (entropy increase, irreversible process, turbulence) as the core metaphor, it tells a story about trust, technology, responsibility and memory. The story follows two parallel lines: one is the involvement of complex scientist Linus Ward in the creation of the autonomous defense system ORACLE and its derivative series of androids MIRROR; the other is anthropologist Elena Marchenko's field records tracking the erosion of trust networks around the world. The two lines met in Zurich, intertwined in Chicago, reconciled in Vienna, and finally used "temperature" as an incalculable anchor of human nature to fight against the entropic torrent of the system.
