Modern history student Lu Chen, his classmates Su Wan, Wang Hao, Jiang Yu and professor Wen Wei were involved in the vortex of time and space because of the Cangyi jade on the research yacht, and accidentally traveled to the new lands of the late Han Dynasty. The four people are living in troubled times, and the road ahead is dangerous. Only ancient jade is the only clue to return to modern times.
Lu Chen is kind and compassionate, unwilling to sacrifice any common people for the chance of winning the war. Relying on the fragmentary knowledge of later generations and Xu Shu's final entrustment, he withstood the doubts of the court and proposed a secret tunnel to transfer the entire city's refugees to Anmin. Su Wan unexpectedly awakened and touched the mind-reading power, but was unable to see through the time-travelers such as Lu and Jiang. A one-way secret love that spans time and space, she is sensitive and delicate and can always detect hidden murderous intentions in advance; her best friend Wang Hao is simple-minded and often blurts out modern game vocabulary; but her former classmate Jiang Yu chooses to join Sima Yi's camp. While carrying out the order to surround and kill Lu Chen and his party, she is repeatedly pulled by the old friendship and selfishness of her classmate.
On one side is the slim hope of returning to modern times, with former classmates antagonizing each other, and in troubled times murderous intent surrounds them. Lu Chen not only wants to find the real Wolong who protects the people of Jingxiang, but also tries to rescue the captured Su Wan, and find a way to survive that balances the common people and his true heart between the power struggle and the love of young people.
